Incredibly common, probably the most common flower in Boulder overall. Typically grows in very dry, open aras, often in sandy, gravelly, and dusty soil. Large amounts of small (1.5-2 inch) eye catching flowers and buds. Flowers have a dark orange/yellow center and yellow petals. Leaves are slightly hairy. Each plant grows as an individual clump of stems, though there may be many clumps grouped near each other. Blooms nearly the entire spring, summer, and fall. Leaves are alternate (one leaf per node - joint where the leaf joins the stem)
