A low, creeping plant with many-branched stems that mostly crawl along the ground, with the flower-bearing tips leaning slightly upward. Flowers, which form in small rings around the tips of new stems, are miniscule and purple. They consist of one singular tube which dips along the edges to form 5 petals. The leaves and stems are hairy. The leaves tend to be thin and sharp-tipped on the edges of flowering stems, and both the leaves and stem are hairy.
