One of our only native local succulents, also known as yellow or lanceleaf stonecrop. Slightly purplish, reddish, or powdery green, lance-shaped leaves densely packed on each non-mature stem. Clusters of non-blooming stems are tiny, even miniscule in harsher environments. When the plant flowers, it sends up a stalk which is very tall compared to the rest of the plant, which branches off into clusters of star-shaped yellow flowers. Grows in rocky and sandy areas, like rocky foothills, canyons, and rocky streamsides. Often grows in light shade. Moderate-high elevation, 5,000 to 11,500 feet.
