One long stem, branching off into several other stems. The tips of each are covered in tiny pinkish or whitish flowers with delicate petals and red anthers . The flowers bloom from the bottom up, so the very tip of each branch has many green teardrop-shaped buds on it. The branch tip often points downwards, giving the branch a candy-cane shape. Longish leaves cling to the bottom parts of the plant. Grows in patches of disturbed, dusty soil- especially roadsides, trailsides, and occasionally grassy plains or random dirt patches in residential areas. Attracts butterflies.
